French food from owners from Paris, France! The wine list is full of Fench wines, traditional French sauces on the food, and wonder baguettes served at the beginning. We were excitedly welcomed into the restaurant and served warm baguettes with salty rich butter. The cocktails were well balanced and tasty. The special pistachio crusted halibut was so melt in your mouth that it was like cotton candy. The steak was cooked to perfection and required almost no chewing it was so tender. The espresso martinis were the best we've ever had, and the cheesecake perfection! Needless to say, we'll be back and you should go now! One of the best restaurants in the CSRA, HANDS DOWN! UPDATE: Just went to their Moroccan theme night. My husband and I were immediately brought back to the meals we had while deployed/stationed in the Middle East/North Africa area. Plus, the mint tea at the end just was icing on the night!

The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor, and the owners couldn’t be more warm and welcoming. Their cocktails are wonderful, and it’s a great spot to sit at the bar and chat with the bartender. We’re so happy to see them reopened in their beautiful spot in Hammond’s Ferry. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

Bistro 55 provides an inviting French bistro atmosphere. During a last-minute search for a Valentine’s Day celebration, we were fortunate to encounter Ms. Paulette, the proprietor, who graciously welcomed us and guided us to our table. Initially apprehensive, our son ultimately savored the salad, duck, and cheesecake. The attentive staff and exquisite cuisine contributed to an unforgettable evening. We can’t wait to go back to try more dishes. Ms. Paulette, we will be back for more. Thank you to you and your staff for an amazing evening.

I've been here a few times and have come to love this restaurant. This particular night I started with the escargot which were small and I had a spot of trouble get getting a couple out. The server was very helpful and fetched me a wooden hors d'oeuvre pick to fish them out. Success! For the entree I had Canard á L’orange. The duck was good but.....can't quite put my finger on it. I think I need to give this dish another go. The food here is exceptional and the Old Fashions are to die for. This place is a must for any occasion, it's not loud, staff are wonderful and attentive and the vibe is warm. I would love to see a Beef Wellie on the menu. I'll keep you posted.

Honestly, the food was exquisite. Every plate was just as delicious as the last, including desserts and drinks. The atmosphere is tranquil and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. It specially shows the most at dawn/night. The service was top-notch. I did make a reservation but luckily for us, it was a slow night, which we loved. Parking is limited, so do plan on walking a bit. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good atmosphere, nice esthetics, and amazing food!

My husband and I went on a date night on opening night now that it’s reopened. I never ever leave reviews but I had to leave one about Bistro 55. Every single staff member was SO kind. We did have our baby with us, who started getting fussy, and they were so accommodating & helpful. Apart from the service, the food was absolutely perfect. We go to nicer restaurants pretty often, have been to pretty much every one in the CSRA, & this one takes the cake. Perfectly seasoned. Great options for everyone. We both had the Coq Au Vin & it was incredible. And don’t even get me started on the cheesecake!! I can’t recommend this place enough. Will for sure go regularly (without our baby next time).

Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service, and Paulette is a beautiful and kind soul! My ribeye steak was a little tough and my husband’s potatoes were a little overcooked but the filet he had was delicious as were the carrots. They welcomed us for our anniversary and even gave us a special desert, upon finding out I couldn’t have wheat they prepared me another desert with ice cream and berries. If you’re looking for a quiet, romantic atmosphere with great service, try Bistro 55!
